The KRTL Congregation

Since its creation, the Palden Shangpa Montpellier Center has been collegially run by an assembly of lamas who form the religious congregation Kagyu Rintchen Tcheu Ling. This congregation consists of Lama Shakya (superior), Lama Serge and Lama Sangye, under the spiritual authority of Kalu Rimpoche. With the help of other lamas, they ensure the transmission of the Dharma, on aspects of study and practice. Volunteer practitioners are committed to their side.

History of the Paldenshangpa Montpellier Center

In 1975, according to the wishes of Kyabje Kalu Rinpoche, the first Tibetan temple of France was born in Montpellier and is called Kagyu Rintchen Tcheu Ling (“precious Dharma garden of the oral line”). Great Masters such as the 16th Karmapa, Pawo Rinpoche, Lama Guendune Rinpoche and Kyabje Kalu Rinpoche present the first rituals and teachings in the apartment, which then serves as a temple.
The construction of the current temple, Route de Mende, began in 1987, making it the second oldest traditional Tibetan temple in France.
